The month of October provides two occasions (a birth date and the date of his death) to remember and express appreciation and love for our Father, Mr. Theodore R. Small. “Daddy”, who has had a lasting impact on our lives, also touched the lives of many as a teacher, school
administrator, community activist and family man. For us and countless others, the Month of October is a time to pause and remember a trailblazer; to acknowledge “the life and legacy of Mr. Theodore R. Small.”
While the circumstances, events and achievements in the life and times of Theodore Small have inspired our lives, let his legacy also motivate and encourage oth-ers. Let those who are economically, socially and educationally disadvantaged in Brooks and surrounding counties, see in my Father’s life, the value and power of a sense of self-worth, pride, a solid work ethic, a good education and above all, faith in God.
